A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE PRITCH BLAND
Huntsman Of The Melbreak Foxhounds

Richard (Pritch) Bland was born in Borrowdale on the 26th January 1939. As a nephew of Johnny Richardson, the famous Blenchathra huntsmen, it wasn't long before he found himself involved in hunting.

In 1962, he joined the Melbreak Foxhounds and whipped in to Harry Hardisty, and in 1974, he became the huntsman of the Melbreak pack. He died in the kennels with his beloved hounds on the 5th June 2007.
