We're back in the UK on home waters for the next in our series 'Experience Fly Fishing', featuring the Derbyshire Limestone Streams, in as beautiful a setting as to be found anywhere.
Of all the rivers in the world, you`d be hard pressed to find streams as magical as the Wye, Derwent, Lathkill and Dove, here in the heart of Izaak Walton Country.
In this film, we'll discuss fish behaviour and show our fishing methods and the techniques needed to catch such wily fish. We give an insight into the life of Izaak Walton.
There is a section on Mayflies and an in depth look at fly life with a leading entomologist. We offer advice on how and when to use dry flies, nymphs and terrestrials. Also included, are two fly tying demonstrations - neither have been seen before.
We examine the role of the river keeper. There is also a section on grayling - the "Lady of the Stream". According to Izaak Walton, "God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling".
