Lakeland's Little Giant

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway offer the visitor to Lakeland a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the splendid countryside from the vantage point of an open carriage, pulled by steam.

This is no ordinary miniature railway, it is a little line with a main line feel and a character all of its own. Here are some of the rarer sights you may see on the railway, locomotives visiting the R&ER as well as the resident favorites.

You will see veterans from the start of 15" gauge railways, still roaring along the rails today and the new addition to the R&ER locomotive fleet, the powerful diesel Douglas Ferreira.

The DVD takes you on the footplate and at the lineside for some unique footage.
