Many people forget that London’s Industry & Commerce was built on the back of its waterways, first the Thames and then a rapid expansion of canals weaving through the heart of the capital.

This DVD explores those waterways by travelling in a ring around the great city. Starting in the East End at Limehouse, we travel over the Regent’s Canal, moving from the terraced houses & tower blocks of Mile End to the 90 hectare Victoria Park. We pass right alongside three main line rail stations and find out why they were all built along the line of the canal. We discover the fascination of Camden Market and then in less than a mile, go right through Regents Park Zoo, and then in front of some of the most desirable properties in the world. Beyond Islington, it’s Little Venice, and a free overnight mooring at the steps of Marks & Spencer’s World Headquarters.

On the return leg, we have our seamanship tested to the full as we rocket down-river on a Spring ebb tide, past the Houses of Parliament, St. Pauls and under Tower Bridge, back into Limehouse. This is a completely new programme, scripted and filmed from scratch. A must for anyone interested in London and its waterways.
