Poland Winter Cabride +
Konin To Warsaw

Becks Price: £19.99
£-19.99 ()

We travel with the drivers of an Express Passenger Locomotive (EP08) Poznan to Warsaw.

Although we start in Poznan our cab ride begins just outside Konin, for it is not until then that it is light enough to film! Leaving Poznan there are a few inches of snow on the ground, by the time we reach Warsaw we find that the overnight snow has left a two foot covering.

During our journey along this main line, arguably the most important in Eastern Europe, we are given an illustrated lesson on Polish signalling, and have a look at other modern Polish Motive power. The last 20km through the Warsaw suburbs is certainly the busiest as the approach to the Central Station is over a six track line.

Then its over the Wisla to the East Station where the fare paying passengers are discharged. We stay with EP 08 007 for a further few km to the vast depot where we can watch the comings and goings at this 24hr a day facility.

To complete our day we dash home at the head of PKP’s finest- the 160kph EP09- through the Warsaw suburbs and back to Kunto.

Filmed in deepest winter with broadcast quality DVC Pro equipment we recommend that you wrap up warm before watching!

The film is narrated by Wiltshire travel writer Phyllis Watts, and is illustrated with plans maps and “working” graphics throughout.
