The East Anglia Transport Museum has created a unique project, a working museum of street transport entirely run by volunteers. This distinctive museum specialises in the half forgotten sights and sounds of mechanical transport of yesteryear that were developed over the best part of a century.

Located in Carlton Coalville, near Lowestoft, Suffolk, the museum is host to an amazing array of road and rail transport from the UK and Europe.

Jonathan Whitlam takes us on a guided tour of the museum, looking in detail at many of the working trams, trolleybuses and motor buses as well as vintage cars, trucks, steam rollers and even a narrow gauge railway. We take a peek behind the scenes and see how the vehicles are restored and kept in working order, and how the museum is run on a day-to-day basis, all with the aid of volunteer staff.

Using the museums unique archive footage we journey back in time and examine the history and development from the first beginnings back in 1962 to becoming one of the UK's premier transport collections. Also featured are many interesting and varied vehicles that attend the museum's special event days during the year where numerous vintage machines of all types converge on the museum site in an incredible show of transport nostalgia.

Whether your interest is buses, trams, trolleybuses or steam there is something in this professionally produced programme for you!
