The tractor working field at the Onslow Park Steam Engine Rally is, in our opinion, without equal in the UK. Each year, we leave convinced that 'they won't be able to improve on that next year' - but they always do.

The theme for 2007 was 'A Century of Farm Progress' and the working field tractors ranged from John Moffitt's 1903 Ivel through to a 1982 IH 6588.

Having recognised the need to encourage the younger enthusiast the Society took the far-sighted decision to introduce a selection of classic tractors. Such is the reputation of the Onslow Park working field that 40 tractors were entered in the first year of this class.

The Pre-1930s class attracted 46 entrants including a 1917 Heider 12-20 Friction Drive, a 1921 British Wallis, a 1925 Vickers Aussie and a Hart Parr 20, which we were informed is the only one in Europe.

The Post 1930s class attracted a similar entry including a 1949 Hurliman, a 1942 International Farmall A with Ridgers and a 1954 Series 1 Landrover is seen in action cutting corn with a mid-mounted mower.

Crawlers and horticultural tractors, incuding a Rollo Croftmaster Tandem, are also featured.
