The 1999 National Vintage Tractor Road Run was hosted by the Ayrshire Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club. The venue for the 14th 'National' was Turnbury Airfield, Maidens and was the first to be held in Scotland.

The Organisers were rewarded with a record entry of 430 tractors from as far afield as Dorset, East Sussex, Powys, Perth, Ulster and Eire, whilst the participants were rewarded with a spectacular route.

With a seaside holidays village, a fishing port, two 'off road' sections, three castles and a climb from sea level to the summit of the Carrick Hills, 287 metres above sea level, this had to be the most varied route yet.

We invite you to sit back and listen to the sounds of Field Marshalls, Fergys, Fordsons, Nuffields, M.A.N.s, MinneapolisMolines, John Deeres, Massey-Harris, Hannomag, Chamberlain, Case, OTA, Internationals, Kubota, Hatz, Linder and BMCs.
