LLANDUDNO 2006 AND THE GREAT WEST RUN 2006

The Llandudno Transport Festival, held every year over the May Bank Holiday, is open to all forms of road transport.

The two main attractions for participants are the Saturday evening 1 in 4 climb to the top of The Great Orme, and the Sunday evening drive around the base of The Great Orme on Marine Drive. Both runs offer great scenery and the opportunity to hear vehicles working hard.

Double-decked buses are not permitted on either run but are seen at work around the town providing a free service from the rally site to the Victorian Extravaganza in the centre of Llandudno.

The Great West Run, held in early October, is a one-day run around Gloucestershire and is also open to most forms of road transport. Michaelwood Services on the M5 northbound was the start point for the run to Chepstow via Gloucester and Monmouth through the Forest of Dean, but unforeseen circumstances prevented video coverage of the end of the Run.

Both events include heavy and light commercials, buses and coaches, cars and motorcycles and a chance to see vehicles never seen on the major road runs.
