Around sixty vehicles gathered at Shrewsbury for the ninth Heart of Wales Run. The first day's route was Shrewsbury to Llanberis via Newtown, Tywyn, Tal-y-llyn, Portmadog and Caernarfon.

Day two was Llanberis to Oswestry via the Pass of Llanberis, Betwys-y-Coed, Blaenau Festiniog, Bala, Corwen, The Horseshoe Pass and LLangollen, a total of 246 miles over the two days.

There were quite a few newly restored vehicles as well as a number of fresh entrants. Nigel Wilde's fleet of J.B.Waters liveried vehicles increased to five with the appearance of his newly restored 1974 Dodge KP1000. The Bedford marque was well represented with the highest proportion of 1940s and '50s models we have seen on any run.

Once again there was breathtaking scenery and lots of fast running on open roads.
